Job description

SNH Strategic Partners is seeking a Senior Procurement Consultant to lead sourcing and procurement strategies within portfolio companies, primarily through BST (Business Services & Transformation) engagements. This role is critical in delivering financial savings, improving operational efficiency, and establishing procurement as a strategic value driver. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a blend of analytical rigor, operational insight, and strategic influence. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead and execute procurement transformation initiatives across portfolio companies to optimize costs, drive efficiencies, and standardize procurement operations. 

  • Responsible for leading sourcing and procurement efforts to optimize financial savings and drive efficiencies in portfolio companies with BST engagements. 

  • Collaborate closely with company leadership to assess procurement needs, define sourcing strategies, and align initiatives with broader business goals. 

  • Conduct detailed cost analyses, leverage industry benchmarks, and identify opportunities for savings and operational improvement. 

  • Negotiate commercial terms and contracts with external vendors, suppliers, and service providers to drive value and mitigate risk. 

  • Implement category management strategies and supplier performance frameworks to ensure continuity, quality, and cost-effectiveness. 

  • Report on key functional procurement metrics to support long-term expense control and reduction across the organization. 

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to procurement teams and internal stakeholders, guiding capability-building and continuous improvement. 

  • Partner with cross-functional leaders in finance, operations, IT, and legal to ensure seamless integration of procurement strategies. 

  • Travel to portfolio company locations as necessary to support on-site assessments, project execution, and change management. 

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred. 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain consulting, ideally with exposure to private equity-backed businesses. 

  • Demonstrated success in driving cost savings, vendor optimization, and process improvement across diverse spending categories. 

  • Strong proficiency with procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba, Coupa) and analytics tools. 

  • Deep understanding of procurement best practices, compliance frameworks, and industry benchmarking. 

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills. 

  • Experience working across multiple industries such as healthcare, industrials, logistics, or technology is highly desirable. 

  • Proven ability to lead complex projects and influence at the executive level.
